CoreMarine awarded grant to develop underwater image recognition technology for subsea asset integrity.
As a part of the  FLOAT&M project, CoreMarine will develop underwater image recognition technology for subsea asset integrity. including dynamic power cables and moorings. This is a giant step forward for subsea asset integrity and monitoring specifically designed for floating wind.
The FLOAT&M project is an "Integrated solution for Floating Wind O&M through the development of new technologies" and is part of the HAZITEK2021 programme to support R&D business.
The project is being led by Saitec Offshore Technologies and developed by fifteen companies: SENER, Alerion Clean Power, Aeroblade, Mugape S.L., Vicinay Marine, DITREL INDUSTRIAL S.L., SIDENOR steel industry, Inalia Innovación y Desarrollo, NAVACEL Process Industries, S.A., TECNALIA Research & Innovation, Ceit Centro Tecnológico,Tekniker, IKERLAN, Mondragon Unibertsitatea and NAUTILUS Floating Solutions . 
The main goals of FLOAT&M are: the development of operation and maintenance cost models, development of monitoring systems, the development of digital twins, the development of integral monitoring systems for critical joints, the development of new anti-corrosion coating solutions, and the development of new materials for the bearings and bolts of offshore wind towers, improving performance and optimising the use of alloys.
COREMARINE is involved in the development of tools for O&M also is leading the development of an innovative monitoring system for power cables and mooring based on underwater vision system and acoustic (wireless) mooring sensors.
